GUMNUTS & CATERPILLARS is for families with an interest in natural/holistic and alternative health and parenting.

Instilling thankfulness and wonders for life on Earth! Educating the whole child - giving each child the foundation for unfolding their unique selves in relation to nature and humanity.

We share a common bond:a desire to be the best parents possible by providing our children with a physical, psychological, and spiritual environment that will nourish them and allow them to reach their greatest potential. To nurture our children, we strive to educate ourselves and to make choices that will enable them in mind, body, spirit.

At Gumnuts and Caterpillars we....

Sing seasonal songs, share organic morning tea, create organic food for a healthy activity, and play with toys and found items from nature that are natural and provide unlimited imagination.
Small group in nurturing home environment with mixed pre-school ages.Simple songs are sung to signify the flow from one activity to the next.

Each session follows the same rhythm. Children and parents alike feel secure in knowing what is to come next.

Songs and stories inspired by nature. Content includes, songs, stories, organic food activity - bread making,biscuits etc all made with organic ingredients and without sugar / simple craft, free play and snack time.

Children are not coaxed to participate or perform activities.

Gumnuts and Caterpillars, provides an opportunity for like-minded parents to meet. The playgroup is Free - donation each session,( to help cover activities). If possible, please bring a piece of organic fruit to share at snack time and a sun hat.

Parents and children form strong friendships, creating a secure home-like atmosphere where, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats.

Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our power.

Community means strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healings. A circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free. Starhawk.

Please join us for a fun morning .... Gumnuts and Caterpillars will meet at Thierry's home in Annandale, Townsville. Thursday February 7th 2008 10am - noon (please arrive on time, so we don't disturb our rhythm).
