A new type of wedding registry is emerging -- businesses are getting ready for organic consumers. Brides want natural home accessories, recycled glassware, organic cotton towels, certified wool bedding and hemp upholstered furniture. Retailers say It’s not just the environmentally concerned brides and grooms who prefer green giving, that family and friends prefer ethical shopping habits too.
First I must clarify. There is organic and there is certified organic. If you question the origin and purity of a product, insist on certified organic ingredients. Also, realize that The good news is that if you need help with arrangements, you don’t have to rob a bank. Just be certain your natural wedding details are taken seriously. Traditional wedding consultants may take a while to prepare themselves for these organic requests. You may have to gently remind them that excess is not fashionable these days. For starters, the most stylish invitations and announcements are made from tree-free papers. Selections vary from subtle glitter in recycled paper to handmade all-natural botanicals. For a rich, conservative feel, look at classic kenaf or hemp paper. There is an eco card for every fashion taste out there. And nowadays nearly every printer offers preferred soy-based ink. Locate organically grown flowers for your chosen floral designer. Purchase in or close to your community. You’ll be admired for supporting flower farmers and buying locally. Leave wildflowers alone so they can reseed. Want organic catering? No problem. Apparently organic wedding cakes are increasing as much as organic food. We’ve come a long way in just a few years. Today an organic carrot cake adorned with organic cream cheese and organic fresh flowers is a feasible option most anywhere, U.S.A. Or perhaps organic chocolate something?
Aromatherapy for bridal showers, the ceremony and reception are ideal. Food can entail chocolate truffles made with neroli and rose oils. Use natural incense and soy- You can buy or sew a hippie look if you wish, but that’s not your natural restriction anymore. Clothing made of hemp, flax, organic cotton, natural wool and silk in numerous styles and every price range is accessible. You want to work closely with the tailor either through a store, consultant, or directly. Both famous and little-known designers are becoming hemp maestros and displaying their talents in weddings. Allow at least two or three months for custom attire. Typically muslin patterns are made from sketches. This process takes time, but can satisfy both local and distant customers. Now to unwind in that lovely attire, may your entertainment be unplugged. Save energy and have far less to worry about. There are numerous instruments (and voices) to provide the rhythm you want without electricity. After the ceremony, organic lavender makes a great toss instead of rice. Handmade chiffon bags can be filled with dried lavender flowers and tied with hemp yarn for guests to throw or keep as mementoes. Simple appreciation gifts for wedding participants become special when organic. Eco-savy people take pride in their environmental concerns. Today they can express themselves without embarrassment or intimidation, and with more social support than ever before. It’s so very natural to show respect for earth with an organic wedding.
