The debate about whether it is more environmentally friendly to have a live Christmas tree or an artificial one might finally be over thanks to a new option: renting one.

What do you think?

The rental company still would use a load of fuel delivering and depending on how they are grown, stored and what they do with them when finished although i am all for buying a real tree instead of an artificial one if you do not already have a tree. if you have an artiificail tree do not toss it out - use it. we save our old spring clean up branches and paint and the grand kids love to come for the day and make some new decorations - a family tradition.

Jumpy, I love your family traditon of using old tree branches for a Christmas tree. This year we decorated a pine tree that is already in the ground. We do not get to have a white xmas.

we are too busy this year for a tree - but i do love a fresh one. our local scouts sell them every year as a fundraiser.
