How about giving away a valued possession?

* Host a party, where everyone brings a plate of food as a gift to share.

* Do something nice for someone else.

for kids get pretty or fun-shaped pebbles on your next bushwalk or beach trip. Stick them on a firm piece of cardboard and label them. If you have no knowledge of geology, label them with funny names instead. Include some glue if you like, for the collection to grow

Eco bags great for library bags. I make one for all the nieces and nephews and add a gently used op-shop book. Pick up some pre-loved cotton tank tops in nice colours from an op-shop, look for similar sizes so you can ‘double-bag’. Now sew across the bottom with several rows for reinforcement. The shoulder straps become the handles. If you’re into appliqué or embroidery go crazy with decorations and buttons, or just opt for functional, clean lines. The bags are also great for an Eco gift wrap, fill with surprises and can be re-used as a bag.

A potted plant from your garden and you can decorate it with a few homemade ornaments like a real Christmas tree if you like.

Save small pots when you buy seedlings and use them to propagate your own seeds or cuttings as gifts. Geraniums and lavender are easy cuttings to strike.
