Hotels' progress table
The City of Melbourne’s Savings in the City program is an innovative environmental program to help city hotels cut energy, water and waste consumption.
The program aims to provide leadership, support, recognition and advice to hotels in three key environmental areas: waste, water and energy.
The efforts and sucess of the 30 hotels is shown in the table below, where their progress to Level 5 recognition for water, waste and energy management is charted. The higher the level, the better the hotel is performing.

Complete audit and opportunity analysis. Commit to saving target (to achieve less than average levels). Commit to action plan (with funding solutions) to meet identified saving target. |

Demonstrate achievement of at least 50 per cent of the saving target (set at Level 2) through benchmarking of bills. |
| Level 4 |
Review resource use, and revise action plan to ensure continuous improvement and the achievement of 100 per cent of the target. |
| Level 5 |
100 per cent of saving target achieved and on-going management plan operational. |
