Here are ten tips on reusing toilet rolls...

1. Push into dirt around seedlings to discourage cutworm

2. Fill with potting mix and plant seeds in, place a thin layer of newspaper in the bottom to stop compost falling out, plant seedlings straight into the soil, the toilet roll breaks down adding nutrients to the soil

3. Paint them all different colours and string them up as a pretty decoration for Christmas / fancy dress parties etc

4. Make Christmas crackers / bonbons with snaps and crepe paper

5. Tape 2 together for toy binoculars

6. Make miniature fairy castles by ading a cone shaped roof and glueing and painting with eco-friendly craft supplies, whilst you have the craft supplies out decorate some and use as puppets

7. Make music by adding some rice inside, cover ends, decorate and shake

8. Animals love 'em - Make a great toy for kittens and gerbils or mice to use for tunnels, guinea pigs like to munch on 'em

9. Donate to someone who sells seedlings at the local market

10. Shred to add to your compost
