Hammocks are really simple to make. Great for a relaxing hangout....
Material Uesd: 1. A piece of really strong canvas. (The canvas should be about 2 1/2 to 3 yards long and about a yard wide.) 2. Two pieces of dowel. 3. Something to make holes in the dowel. 4. Something to sew the edges of the canvas. 5. Two lengths of super-strong twine. Cut two pieces of dowel, each one inch in diameter and 18 inches long. Drill a quarter to half-inch hole at each end. Sew the ends of the canvas, leaving a casing 3 inches wide so the dowel fits through. Put dowel through each end and take about 15 feet of really strong rope that will fit through the holes drilled at each end of the dowel. Cut the ropes in half and thread the ends through the holes, tying one or two firm knots. And there you have it -- a relaxing hangout. |
