1) The best overall eye tonic is eyebright (a herb). Make a tea and either use the teabags or soak organic cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a compress while lying down.(Eyebright is great for your animal companions if they need a soothing eye wash - open an eyebright capsule of powdered herb into water and bathe). 6) Raw potato slices laid on sore eyes reduces heat and redness. 7) For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eyebright / chamomile), slightly cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest. 8) For tired or bloodshot eyes, soak sterile cotton balls or soft cloth in cold organic milk. Place over eyes for 10 minutes. Rinse entire face in warm, then cool, water. 10) The skin around the eye is very thin and delicate, and care should be taken when removing make-up. Use a very fine oil, such as coconut or apricot kernal or almond, to remove it so that it floats off.
Around the eyes oil. The thin, fine skin around the eyes shows early lines in the same way as the neck. Remember that the skin around the eyes is super fragile and you can do more harm than good if you are heavy - handed. Use only the middle finger to gently pat on this area and avoid using heavy oils that can 'drag'. Organic coconut oil is an ideal eye nourishment oil.
