Colds respond quickly to a warm cup of this mildly soothing herb tea blend...
Add a little lemon juice or organic honey too if necessary to suit the taste of an older child. (it's also a good blend for those vague aches and pains and nervous worries that kids get.) 1 teaspoon dried organic catmint leaves 1 teaspoon dried organic lemon balm leaves 2 teaspoons organic chamomile flowers 1 cup boiling water Place the herbs in a small non-metallic bowl or teapot and pour boiling water over. Cover, and leave to cool slightly. Strain and give to the child. Depending on the age of the child, this tea is best sipped hot, rather than at room teperature. This should produce a mild perspiration, helpful in reducing a fever and flushing out the sinuses. Any remaining tea may be stored in a covered jug in the refrigerator for up to two days, then must be discarded. |
