Planting and caring for trees is the only part of the process. Planting ideas and hope in the minds of children is just as important.

Look through gardening magazines and books (take a visit to the local library, if you do not have them at home) to find a suitable tree for your climate and home.

Help the children make some flower posies to give to their teachers or special friends on St Valentine's Day.

On the day before St Valentine's Day walk around the garden together and pick some small dainty flowers and ferns for greenery.
