Please share your fave green holiday destination...

Just up the hill from where we live...

Hidden Valley Cabins is an award winning eco friendly resort, we are Australia's 1st carbon neutral resort and tour company and operate on 100% solar power.

We are located one and half hours northwest of Townsville, near running river on the western slope of the Paluma range in Queensland, Australia. We're ideal for a relaxing holiday to recharge your batteries and experience the Australian outback tranquility. Hidden Valley is fast becoming a tourist destination that should not be missed.

Due to the mountains elevation the climate is cooler and less humid than areas close to the coast. Hidden Valley Cabins offer a peaceful, comfortable holiday in an "off the beaten track" environment.

The area is abundant with varying species of birds, butterflies, wallabies, Lace Monitors, platypus, nocturnal animals such as gliders and much more. . Hidden Valley Cabins is a great area for bird watching and wildlife enthusiasts, there are also regular sightings of Platypus in the nearby Running River.

Hidden Valley Cabins is the first Carbon Neutral Resort in Australia and now operate on 100% solar power, with the help of our friends at Climate Friendly we have purchased carbon credits to off set the green house gases we omit into the atmosphere and are now CLIMATE NEUTRAL

Two great Santa Fe inns, Hacienda Nicholas and The Madeleine Inn, have a mission to “Go Green All the Way.” “We are already the greenest lodging in Santa Fe, and by the time the new eco-friendly Convention Center opens, just four blocks away, we will be that much closer to our ultimate goal of having a zero carbon footprint,” says owner Carolyn Lee.

A world of beauty and hospitality awaits you at Hacienda Nicholas, an enchanting southwest bed & breakfast inn. Whether you're here for a romantic weekend or a winter getaway, our attention to detail and superior personal service will ensure a memorable Santa Fe vacation.

The extra thick adobe walls of this authentic hacienda provide a peaceful refuge from an often overwhelming world. Located in the heart of historic Santa Fe, the inn is built around a delightful garden courtyard, complete with outdoor kiva fireplace.

This romantic Santa Fe bed and breakfast, built in 1886 by a local railroad tycoon, offers an opportunity to experience historic New Mexico lodging at its best. Tucked away on a quiet street near the Santa Fe Plaza and Canyon Road and surrounded by lush and peaceful gardens, the inn features beautiful stained glass, ornate fireplaces, unique architectural details and period antiques.

The Madeleine is delighted to announce the opening of the Absolute Nirvana Spa & Gardens. Nirvana is Sanskrit, meaning a place or condition of sublime happiness or fulfillment

Imagine Cruises, sailing daily out of Nelson Bay on Port Stephens, Australia, is an eco-tourism operation committed to the preservation of dolphins, whales and the Australian marine environment. The cruise gives tourists the chance to see whales as they migrate north along Australia's east coast then south again in the spring.

The whale-watching season on NSW's Mid North Coast runs from May to November. Humpbacks, minke whales, Southern Right whales, sei whales and brydes whales as well as pods of offshore pacific common dolphins can be spotted.

Cost: $55 for adults, $50 concession and children (1-14) are $30.

Imagine Cruises on (02) 4984 9000.

Tree houses aren’t just for kiddies. Some people call them home all year round, like the Korowai of Irian Jaya, Indonesia, while others are rented out as holiday homes to those seeking a unique eco experience.

Nestled among the branches or constructed around wide trunks, tree houses offer the ultimate chance to be at one with nature, quite literally. Here are five of the coolest tree houses around:
