Strawberry teeth whitener

The secret to this inexpensive home whitening method is malic acid, which acts as an astringent to remove surface discoloration. Combined with baking soda, strawberries become a natural tooth-cleanser, buffing away stains from coffee, red wine, and dark sodas. While it’s no replacement for a bleaching treatment at your dentist’s office, “this is a fast, cheap way to brighten your smile,” says Adina Carrel, DMD, a dentist in private practice at Manhattan Dental Arts in New York. “Be careful not to use this too often, though, as the acid could damage the enamel on your teeth.”

You need:
1 ripe strawberry
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking powder until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) You can apply once a week.

Age Spots
Cut a lemon wedge and hold directly on spot for ten minutes.Rinse with warm water.Repeat this step every day until the spots lighten or vanish altogether.

Bath Beauty Tip
Pour a cup or more of organic powdered milk under running bath water. The lactic acid in the milk will remove dry dead skin and leave you baby soft.Just add a drop or two of your fave essential oil if you want a relaxing bath. Turn on the soft music, light a few beeswax candles and enjoy!

Beautiful Brown Hair
I have medium brown hair and to make it look a richer and darker brown, I take organic cocoa and mix it with an equal amount of shampoo. Just wash your hair with this mixture and it will make your hair a darker and richer brown. After washing your hair with this mixture, you can also add the cocoa to your conditioner. (do not use the sweetened version cocoa that you can buy at supermarkets or you will end up with a mess!)

Hair Treatment
Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, whip it to a peak. Add one tablespoon.water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Then mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked well into your scalp, then rinse with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is all used and then rinsed until all of the egg is washed away.

Elbow and Hand Treatment
To remove the discoloration from your elbows, just cut a lemon in half and rest an elbow in each half for 10 minutes. The acid in the lemon juice breaks down the dark patches, so they wash away.
Rub a cut lemon over hands to remove cooking odours, especially when handling fish and to lighten any stains on fingernails.

Eye Treatment
Before bed apply unscented castor oil around your eyes.

Puffy Eyes
Put cool slices of cucumbers on your eyes.Or soak two tea bag and place in freezer for a few minutes, place on eyes. Or, grate a raw potato, mould into a mushy pack, and place on eyes and lids for 10-20 minutes. The potato starch will help smooth eye-area skin and ease away puffiness.

Baggy, Crepey eyes
Dab some Preparation H hemorrhoid cream on those bags!!It will shrink them up in no time! The movie stars trick before they went to the surgeons.

I tried the organic cocoa powder mixed in my shampoo and it sure does work. Actually covered my few greys,I also added some to my mix of organic coconut oil conditioner. Thanks a million for sharing. Have also heard about using hemorrhoid cream for wrinkles around eyes, I think I will give that one a miss though. I just use organic coconut oil and it works a trick - a great moisturizer and anti-wrinkle treat as well as great in smoothies and to fry food etc.

That sounds so cool - organic cocoa for brown hair, shame I am one of those blondes.

I do occasionally rinse with lemon juice when we have a surplus of lemons and it gives a lovely gloss and highlights.

Conserve water by limiting shower time or by reducing the water level in your bath by two inches.

Also, be sure to turn the water off while brushing your teeth or washing your face.

According to MSN.com, running the water in your bathroom sink for two minutes sends 2 gallons of water down the drain

Try going “poo-free.” Reduce the use of plastic bottles and train your scalp to produce less oil by giving up shampoo and opting for more natural methods of cleaning your hair. “Poo-free” or “no poo” techniques include using baking soda, vinegar, or honey concotions and even washing hair with only water and a wash cloth.

The baking soda wash, removes any build up of hair products, and is also great for dandruff.

Does anyone have a green tip for making a natural hairspray?

of course we all know what is in the regular stuff ---

Hair spray

Butane/Propane - human toxicant

Octylacrylamide Acrylates - Banned in the EU

Butylaminoethyl - Banned in the EU

Cyclopentasiloxane - Persistent, bioaccumulative in wildlife. studies show sense organ effects at moderate doses

Propanol - studies show reproductive effects at moderate doses; possible carcinogen, skin irritant

Fragrance - always unsettling as fragrances can be made of all sorts of toxic chemicals. They aren't required to be specified in this country as they are "trade secrets"
