The future of the endangered Tasmanian devil is being threatened by the outback of the devastating Devil Facial Tumour Disease. But all is not lost - you can make a difference by donating to Save the Tasmanian Devil Program, which is working to control the disease in the wild. You can also see the real thing at DEVILS HEAVEN.
Where and When:
Devils Heaven at Launceston Lakes, 1,166 Eccleston Road, Riverside (30 minute's drive from Launceston airport).
Open daily, 9am - 4pm. Feeding times are 10.30am, 1pm and 3.30pm. www.tassiedevil.com.au

Gazza, you got me with the heading. Paid a visit to the site. Why do they call them devils? The young ones look rather cute being handled but the big teeth on the one on the opening page looks rather fierce. Also noticed that the Australian government gave one to the Copenhagen Zoo as a gift when Princess Mary had a baby. Will be visiting family in Denmark later this year and will make sure I go and check out the devil.

Eco Quote

When a man throws an empty cigarette package from an automobile, he is liable to a fine of $50.  When a man throws a billboard across a view, he is richly rewarded.  Pat Brown  quote from David Ogilvy, Ogilvy on Advertising, 1985
