Pesticides don't belong in breast milk In 1995 an Australian study found that breastfed babies are regularly exposed to several pesticides, through their breast milk, at levels greater than the acceptable daily intake. in Canada a direct correlation has been observed between breast milk pesticide contamination and recurrent middle ear infections in infants, a leading cause of deafness. The good news is that 30 years ago, a French study found that the same thing - high levels of pesticides in breastmilk - BUT those levels declined substantially when the mothers went ORGANIC. |
